Financial Consulting — Cape Town

Clear-headed financial guidance for growing businesses

We help founders, finance teams and boards turn messy books, unverified suppliers and gut-feel decisions into numbers they can actually stand behind — to a bank, an investor, or each other.

01 What we actually do

Three ways we get you to a defensible view

01

Numbers you can actually stand behind

We rebuild reporting so it holds up under real scrutiny — from a bank covenant review to a boardroom question you weren't expecting. No more spreadsheets that only one person understands.

Supplier and vendor risk, reviewed properly

Growing fast usually means your supplier base grew faster than your controls did. We build tiered verification and financial-health scoring so you know who you're actually exposed to.

Growth decisions backed by real modelling

Before you sign the lease, hire the team or take the funding round, we run the numbers three ways — best case, base case, and the one nobody wants to model but should.

From 600 unverified suppliers to a defensible view

Situation

600 suppliers, no consistent picture

A fast-growing manufacturing client had over 600 suppliers on file, added in the scramble of a three-year expansion. There was no consistent vetting process, no financial-health data, and no clear picture of BEE compliance exposure across the list — a problem their auditors and their bank had both started asking about.

The work

A tiered verification framework

Praleno built a tiered verification framework covering financial standing, ownership structure, compliance status and payment history. We ran every active supplier through it, flagged anomalies for manual review, and trained the client's procurement team to maintain the framework going forward.

Result

Exposure identified before it mattered

Of 600 suppliers, 214 were confirmed low-risk and fast-tracked, 89 were flagged and either re-negotiated or exited, and R3.2 million in previously unrecognised exposure was identified before it became a problem. The full review took six weeks.
