About Praleno

Built by people tired of watching bad decisions get made confidently

Praleno started in 2018 with a simple observation: most business decisions in South Africa aren’t sunk by bad ideas, they’re sunk by decision-makers working off numbers nobody had actually checked.

Claims we’re happy to back up

We work on your problem, not our template.

No two engagement scopes look the same at Praleno — the supplier framework we built for a manufacturer looks nothing like the cash forecast model we built for a retail chain the same month.

We stay small on purpose.

Every client works directly with the consultant who did the work, not a junior reading from someone else’s notes. That’s why our team page has four names on it, not forty.

We hand over everything, always.

Models, work papers, scoring logic — it’s all yours at the end of the engagement, built so your own team can run it without calling us back.

Clear numbers beat confident guessing, every time.

How we got here

Six years, one framework, forty-plus engagements

  1. 2018

Praleno registered in Cape Town, founded by Adriaan Botha after eight years in Big Four advisory.

  2. 2020

First large-scale supplier risk engagement, for a Western Cape food distributor — the framework we still use today.

  3. 2022

Naledi Mokoena joins as Head of Risk Advisory; the scoring model is formalised and documented.

  4. 2024

Praleno passes 40 client engagements across manufacturing, retail and logistics.
